Sorenson Engineering

In 2006, Sorenson Engineering celebrated a milestone marking the 50 year anniversary of the company. Today we gratefully acknowledge the wealth of accomplishments achieved by our continuously evolving organization and staff during the preceding half-century. Equally, we are further mindful of our opportunistic position at a turning point for the strategic future vision of our enterprise. This turning point is linked symbolically with the transition to our new company logo from the legacy logo created by my mother, Joyce Sorenson in 1956, when my father, Frank Sorenson, continuing a lifelong passion for creative ingenuity applied to precision machining, acted on his dream to start a small business in which he would be free to fully pursue his ambitions.

1946 Returning from service in the South Pacific in World War II , Frank Sorenson joins cousin working with Davenport multi spindle automatic lathes 1950 Frank becomes member of founding team and plant superintendent as Papermate launches the first successful implementation and marketing of ball point pens 1953 Continuing in the ball point pen industry Frank moves to Anja Engineering as Vice President of Manufacturing 1956 Sorenson Engneering is established and operates for 6 months on leased floor space in Banning, California. 1957 Business is moved along with the family to home in Yucaipa, California 1962 Company growth and expansion requires additional space resulting in move to current location on Dunlap Boulevard, in Yucaipa and building of new 1800 square foot facility to accommodate growing business 1992 David Sorenson, Frank's eldest son, becomes CEO. 2005 Certification to ISO 2000 : 9001 2007 Sorenson Engineering celebrates 50 year anniversary.
